EXCITING NEWS –

The Time Team are digging a trench at the Ness of Brodgar July 2026, the dig will be open to visitors on weekdays between July 7 and July 30. It has been announced that this is a potentially really interesting find and will only be open for this short time.

Evas howe – Relax in our newly built one-bedroom property. Perfect for two, enjoy panoramic views, wildlife watching, and stargazing from the decked patio or cosy living room. This sustainable retreat offers modern comforts like underfloor heating and a dishwasher, perfect for a tranquil escape.

Dene Cottage – This peaceful, fully restored eco-cottage, powered by solar panels and a wind turbine, offers two bedrooms (one double, one single, with an option for an extra child’s bed). Guests can enjoy a comfortable living space, a well-equipped kitchen, and a sunroom with views of the surrounding landscape and local wildlife.

Both properties are situated only a 10 minute walk from the village of Dounby with its small supermarket, Post Office, craft shop, or an evening stroll down beside the Loch of Harray to the Merkister Hotel for a drink or a meal at their highly recommended restaurant.
